Application:

The HW331: 1kV interlocked armor - power cable is for exposed or concealed wiring in wet or dry locations and for use in ventilated, non-ventilated, and ladder type cable troughs and ventilated flexible cableway in wet or dry locations. Suitable for direct burial, use in cable tray and embedment in concrete. Sunlight and oil resistant outer jacket. Teck cables are versatile, flexible, and resistant to mechanical abuse and corrosion. Typical applications are for control, lighting, and power circuits. Used in industries such as pulp and paper, mining and steel, food and beverage, commercial centers, generating stations, refineries, chemical plants and other industrial facilities.

Conductors
  • Bare annealed copper, Class B stranding per ASTM B-8
  • Sizes 8 AWG to 1000 kcmil, conductors are compact stranded to reduce cable diameter and weight

Insulation
  • Cross-linked polyethylene (XLP) per CSA C22.2
  • No 38 type RW90 for unshielded cables

Grounding Conductor
  • Uninsulated stranded bare copper

Inner Jacket
  • Black polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket per CSA C22.2
  • No. 131-M89, 90°C temperature rating, flame retardant, low acid gas emitting

Armor
  • Interlocking aluminum tape armor applied directly over the inner jacket

Outer Jacket
  • Black polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket per CSA C22.2 No. 131-M89
  • Low acid gas emission, limited flame spread and excellent corrosion resistance

Bending Radius
  • Unshielded Cables: 7 x cable overall
  • Shielded Cables: 12 x cable overall

Flame Tests
  • CSA FT1, flame retardant
  • CSA FT4, fire retardant
  • ICEA T-29-520 Fire Test at 210,000 BTU/hr
  • IEEE 1202, 383 and UL 1685

Additional Standards
  • CSA listed Type TECK 90
  • CSA C22.2 No. 0.3-96 and marked AG14, low acid gas emitting
  • CSA C22.2 No. 174-M1998, rated for Hazardous Locations (HL)
  • Note: Cannot be used in Class 1 or 2, Division 1 locations in accordance with NEC
  • Lead free and RoHS compliant
